WHO IS AUTHORISED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE?

The only people authorised to drive the vehicle are those named as the main driver and additional driver in the hire contract.

WHAT DO I NEED TO HIRE A SCOOTER? DO I NEED A SPECIAL LICENCE?

You'll need your passport or ID card, a credit card or cash to pay the deposit and your driving licence. To hire a scooter at Blue Autos Rent a Car, you'll need a valid driving licence in the rental country. You'll also need your booking voucher. *Unfortunately, we are unable to accept photos or photocopies of driving licences.

DO I HAVE TO LEAVE A DEPOSIT?

Yes. You will need to leave a deposit for the scooter. You can make the payment either by credit card or in cash. Rest assured, nothing will be charged to your credit card unless absolutely necessary.

CAN I DRIVE WITHOUT A HELMET?

No. Driving without a helmet is strictly prohibited. Both the driver and passenger must wear a properly secured helmet, regardless of the type of scooter. The use of helmets is mandatory for all vehicles, including small scooters (49cc).

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

The price includes the cost of 2 helmets, comprehensive insurance with excess, VAT, the drop off service, roadside assistance, unlimited mileage, online discount and free cancellation.

WHAT IS THE EXCESS?

The excess is the maximum amount that the customer must pay in the event of theft or damage caused to the vehicle.

IS PETROL INCLUDED?

No, the vehicle has to be returned with the same level of petrol as at the time it was hired.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE INSURANCE WITH EXCESS?

The hirer will be responsible for any flaws which are caused to the hire vehicle through accidents or by any other means, including damage caused by fire and theft. Except when having agreed with the hire company a supplementary waiver of any responsibilities for material damage and theft, which in any event will incur an excess of 1000€ + VAT (excluding cars).

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE COMPREHENSIVE INSURANCE?

Rent a Car offers the client collision damages insurance for the hire vehicle. This insurance does not cover any damage caused to wheels, the lower parts of the vehicle, loss of keys, fire, breakages or flaws to the vehicle interior and accessories belonging to, or provided with the car. This insurance will be deemed invalid, as will the contract, incurring a loss to the hirer of the tariff, insurance and euros deposit, if: o The vehicle is driven by a person who is not the hirer, without a contract or if the contract is out of date. o The driver infringes the Traffic Regulations. o Damages are caused intentionally or due to faulty use of the vehicle. o There are more persons travelling in the vehicle than the authorised number. o The vehicle is driven off tarmac roads. o The driver is driving under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicant substances. oThe hirer uses the vehicle for an activity such as the transport of merchandise, paid transportation of passengers or anything that implies direct or indirect sub-hire of the vehicle. o If the insurance becomes invalid due to the abovementioned situations, the hirer will be responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle through theft, accident, breakdown, vandalism, loss of vehicle or any part thereof, as well as the days that the vehicle is not in use.

DO I NEED A DRIVING LICENCE TO HIRE ALL VEHICLES, INCLUDING THOSE WITH A 49cc ENGINE?

You need a driving licence to drive any vehicle, for 125cc scooter and quads, you will just need a driving licence (B) and more than 3 years experience.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE TO HIRE A VEHICLE?

The minimum age to hire any type of vehicle is 18.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN TRAVEL ON A 49cc SCOOTER?

49cc scooters are approved to transport 1 or 2 people.

DO YOU OFFER A HOME/HOTEL DROP-OFF SERVICE?

Yes, we do. The home/hotel drop-off service is included in the price and no additional fee applies.

DO YOU OFFER A HOME/HOTEL PICK-UP SERVICE?

A fee of €15 applies to the vehicle pick-up service.

CAN I PAY BY CREDIT CARD?

Of course, you can pay in cash or by credit card.

HOW ARE DAYS OF HIRE CALCULATED?

Days of hire are calculated on a 24-hour basis from the time at which you pick up the vehicle. You are offered a maximum 40-minute grace period, after which, you will be charged one additional full day.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I WANT TO EXTEND MY HIRE?

If you are yet to pick up your vehicle, you can change your booking at any time by calling the booking office or by writing to info@blueautosrentacar.com. If you have already picked up your vehicle and want to extend your contract, please visit the closest Blue Autos Rent a Car office with your hire vehicle. Contract extensions cannot be made over the phone. Consult the section on our offices to discover the closest one to you.

DO YOU OFFER FREE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE?

Yes, our technical assistance is free of charge. And is only available during office hours.

WHERE ARE OUR OFFICES?

Our offices are located in the island's main tourist spots. Optionally we offer to drop your vehicle off free of charge at your accommodation, in the event that there is no office nearby.

OFFICE OPENING HOURS

Our offices are open from 9 am to 12.30 pm and from 4.30 pm to 8 pm. Although our port office is open from 9 am to 9 pm from June to September, inclusive.

CAN I RETURN THE VEHICLE TO A DIFFERENT OFFICE?

At Blue Autos Rent a Car, you can pick up your vehicle at any of our offices and return it at another office thanks to our “One Way” service. Our One-Way service is available at all offices in Formentera and is completely free of charge.

WILL YOU REFUND MY MONEY IF I RETURN THE SCOOTER EARLY?

Unfortunately not. Once the hire contract starts, the amount paid cannot be refunded. We do not refund money if you return the scooter (and/or extras) before the date stipulated in the contract.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I ARRIVE LATER THAN AGREED IN THE CONTRACT?

The person named in the booking must inform the office of any change to the contract in advance. As stipulated in the contract, Blue Autos Rent a Car will charge as many days' vehicle hire not covered by the contract without prior notice. It is illegal to drive a hired scooter once the contract has expired. If you wish to extend the contract, please contact the office and sign a new contract, which can be picked up at the office or sent by email.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CANCEL MY BOOKING?

If you cancel your booking 24 hours before the arrival date, no fee will apply. If you do not cancel your booking 24 hours before your arrival or fail to show at the booking office, your credit card will be charged for one day's hire to cover handling fees

HOW CAN I CHANGE OR CANCEL MY BOOKINGS?

If you booked your vehicle via our website, the booking department will be happy to help, just send an email to: info@blueautosrentacar.com.

CAN I USE THE HIRE VEHICLE TO TRAVEL OUTSIDE FORMENTERA?

Under no circumstances may you travel to any other island or the mainland using vehicles hired from BLUE AUTOS RENT A CAR.

CAN YOU CONFIRM THE SPECIFIC MAKE AND MODEL OF THE VEHICLE?

At BLUE AUTOS RENT A CAR., we always try to offer you the vehicle of your choice. However, if this is not possible, we will provide you with a vehicle from the same category; if, due to force majeure, we are unable to do so, we will provide you with a vehicle from a higher category.

ARE VEHICLES PICKED UP AT THE PORT TERMINAL OR DO I HAVE TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE?

Please go straight to the booking office, which is located in the Port of La Savina.

HOW CAN I GET AN INVOICE FOR MY HIRE?

You can request an invoice corresponding to your hire contract by sending an email to info@blueautosrentacar.com. In your message, please include your contract number and our administration staff will send your invoice to you.
